It is situated in a quiet village between Teguise and Costa
Teguise and only fifteen minutes from the world famous surfing
Famara beach, the longest beach on the Canary Islands.
Interior
The lounge has a lovely spacious ambience with large patio
windows and modern furniture. A separate dining room with
patio windows looks out onto the terrace area and private
pool . The kitchen is equipped with everything necessary
for today's standard of eating.
The master bedroom has a patio window looking out over
the pool and spacious gardens with mature trees and shrubs
and also has the luxury of an en-suite bathroom. The other
bedrooms can accommodate either twin or double beds, depending
on your requirements with the use of a separate bathroom
and has a dining room that seats 6 people.
Exterior
Casa Christophe and Villa Lulu are detached but situated
next door to each other on the same road. Which is fantastic
for larger groups who want to holiday together. Off-road
parking leads directly to the grounds. With sun loungers,
chairs and a barbeque, the patio area is ideal for dining
al fresco. Palm trees and exotic plants unique to the island
surround each of their private, heated swimming pools.
The pool is surrounded by Astroturf, which makes it comfortable
for babies and young children and prevents the worry of
walking on hot tiles. There is a shallow end for the more
nervous swimmer. The pool area is surrounded by mature gardens
giving plenty of privacy.
The surrounding area
Oasis de Nazaret is perfectly situated between the old capital,
Teguise, and the beaches of Costa Teguise. Flanked by rugged
cliffs, these beaches are a paradise for surfers, sunbathers
and walkers alike. The villa location also makes for an
ideal base for cyclists, as the best roads are in the north
or the island.
One of the island’s most famous attractions is the haute-cuisine restaurant, LagOmar. Designed by Caesar Manrique as part of a residence for Omar Sharif (hence the name), its setting is jaw-droppingly dramatic. But if you’re after more modest fare, the local social club offers reasonably-priced food as well as a takeaway service and live entertainment.
Staying at Villa Christophe, you have the advantage of
being able to get to the Teguise Sunday market before all
the tourist coaches arrive. The most famous market on the
island, it’s a bustling social event with some great
local craft stalls (plus a liberal spread of tat!). Bear
in mind that you’re expected to haggle.
The local social club also provides good-value food, a take-away service with family-friendly English speaking staff and all-round family entertainment. Teguise also has a supermarket where you can stock up on provisions.
You also have the advantage of being able to get to the Teguise Sunday market before the tourist coaches arrive, famous for its beautiful table cloths, leather goods and wooden items from Africa. Do remember that you are expected to barter. |
