Far from the mega-resorts, the village of Oasis de Nazaret offers the perfect escape from a life on the go. Whether you’re a nature lover, a beach bum or the sporting type, there’s something for you. Then again, you might not want to leave your villa once you’ve seen its private gardens and swimming pool. And that’s not to mention the outstanding views that stretch from the sea right up to the mountain peaks.
Interior
Villa Lulu offers everything that 21st-century accommodation
should: stylish furniture, spacious rooms, ensuite bathroom
in the master bedroom, internet connection and much more
besides. Whether you’re in the master bedroom, the
lounge or the dining room you’ll be able to admire
the gardens through patio windows.
There are two other bedrooms,
both large enough to accommodate double beds, as well as
another bathroom. The kitchen is separate from the dining
room, and has everything you need to cater for yourself
in a modern day world.
Exterior
Villa Lulu and Casa Christophe are right next door to one
another. Which is fantastic for larger groups who want to
holiday together. The villa has off-road parking which leads
directly to its grounds.
With sun-loungers, chairs and a
barbeque, the patio area is ideal for dining al fresco.
Palm trees and exotic plants surround the swimming pool
along with the necessary Astroturf to prevent slipping on
the tiles or burning your feet in the hot mid day sun.
The surrounding area
Oasis de Nazaret is perfectly situated between the old capital,
Teguise, and the beaches of Costa Teguise. Flanked by rugged
cliffs, these beaches are a paradise for surfers, sunbathers
and walkers alike. The villa location also makes for an
ideal base for cyclists, as the best roads are in the north
or the island.
One of the island’s most famous attractions is the haute-cuisine restaurant, LagOmar. Designed by Caesar Manrique as part of a residence for Omar Sharif (hence the name), its setting is jaw-droppingly dramatic. But if you’re after more modest fare, the local social club offers reasonably-priced food as well as a takeaway service and live entertainment.
Staying at Villa Lulu, you have the advantage of being able to get to the Teguise Sunday market before all the tourist coaches arrive. The most famous market on the island, it’s a bustling social event with some great local craft stalls (plus a liberal spread of tat!).
Bear in mind that you’re expected to haggle.
